Welcome to my new website!

There have been a few changes around here.

As you can see, if you visited the previous site, things are quite different.

I'd been thinking for a while that I would have to change my web site. And so, one morning a couple of weeks back, I decided to set things in motion, downloading WordPress software and starting to tinker a bit with some new ideas. But then Fate stepped in. That very afternoon, as I was envisaging weeks of getting my head around the new task I had given myself, an email arrived completely out of the blue from Iain Ronayne, of the web site creators Design309. He had read my detective novel, looked at my site, and decided (as I had done) that it needed changing. Could he help?

Of course I jumped at the chance. And so here we are, in what seems like an absurdly short time, with a brand spanking new site, far better than anything I could have done myself. Iain has done a fantastic job, and has been amazingly patient with all my corrections and points of detail. I can't thank him enough, and would recommend him very highly to anyone looking for a web designer for their own site. You can find his contact details by clicking on the 'Affordable Web Design' link at the bottom of this page, or by clicking here.

I just need to add that as of now my new blog posts will be appearing here, and no longer at jasonwebstersblog.com.

I look forward to reading your comments.

The action, c'est moi

In 1990 I moved to Alexandria to learn Arabic. It felt a long way away at the time. Not from 'home' - I was too excited at being in this strange and exotic land for that. But I remember it feeling cut off, distant, separated from... And that was part of the problem. Read more

Good news...

... from my UK publisher - Or the Bull Kills You was in the top 10 for trade paperback (large format) thrillers in the first half of 2011, and was the biggest selling crime/thriller debut novel in that format.

Body-surfing, waves, life, death, the universe, etc.

We know that surfing is a kind of metaphor for life, right? Riding the wave, all that stuff.

But what about body-surfing? I've been trying to body-surf for years, never quite managing it (all body-surfing should be done in the nude, it goes without saying).
